Botkier Bags and Purses
Botkier purses, like the ones carried by Angelina Jolie, Lindsay Lohan, and Heidi Klum are designed by Monica Botkier, a fashion designer who introduced her line of designer handbags to the world in 2003. Botkier purses achieved immediate cult status due to their elegant look and functionality which appeals to the woman on the go. Before her success with Botkier bags, Monica was a fashion photographer for magazines including Mademoiselle and Surface.
Botkier continues her role as fashion photographer by shooting the photos for each season’s Botkier purse ad campaign. Botkier has recently added a line of footwear to her popular accessory line that complements Botkier handbags when they debut each season. Botkier purse designs mirror Monica’s urban chic, fast paced Manhattan lifestyle. Botkier purses are functional with a touch of sexy, a bag that makes you feel good when you carry it.
In July 2007, Botkier was welcomed into the respected Council of Fashion Designers of America, and since then Botkier purses have been featured in Vogue and People Style Watch. Botkier bags are created in many materials and designs, but they all are styled with functionality in mind.
The Botkier purse vacation collection includes popular designs such as the St. Tropez Vacation Tote. The St. Tropez is a roomy, sleek vacation bag available in gold patent leather and metallic nylons. This Botkier purse design includes details such as a flap with custom logo hardware and hidden magnetic closure. The inside of the Botkier tote has one compartment with the logo lining, a multifunctional pocket, and a zip pocket.
The Sasha Duffel was also a very popular design for the summer into fall Botkier purse collection. The Sasha duffel can be carried as a duffle bag or as a hobo bag. Custom details such as custom square rings and buckles, a front pocket, and a removable strap made this Botkier purse stand out from the crowd. The Sasha Duffel has a main zip compartment that is lined with Botkier logo lining. It also has one zip pocket, an interior logo plate, and a Botkier signature multifunctional pocket with key-chain.
Botkier purses featured many designs for the Holidays with rich colors such as Rose Metal and Bordeaux. Many of the holiday styles were hobos, clutches, and wristlets such as the Ziggy. The popular wristlets are detailed with intricate Origami pleats and a criss-cross topstitch detail and come in hot colors such as Pink Gold, Smoke and Electric blue.
The Studio Clutch is an example of Botkier’s attention to detail. This lovely clutch, fashioned of Italian lambskin, a favorite leather used in many Botkier purses, included details such as faceted Swarovski crystals and criss-cross design belting. As with all Botkier bags, the main zip compartment is lined with logo lining and includes one zip pocket with an interior logo plate on a leather platform.
Botkier’s designs for this year’s spring and summer campaign are anxiously awaited by fans of Botkier handbags. Their appeal is not dampened by their smaller price tag when compared to many high end brands. The more reasonable price of Botkier purses make them within reach of many of today’s professional women.
