 Jimmy Choo purses are a joint effort of Tamara Mellon and Jimmy Choo.  Tamara was the accessories editor at Vogue UK when she approached Mr. Jimmy Choo a couture shoe maker from London, who was recognized by his fine craftsmanship about creating stylish yet comfortable shoes for women.  Jimmy Choo, the company was launched in 1996.

Ms. Mellon partnered with Jimmy Choo to start the ready to wear company and located investors and factories in Italy to produce the shoe collection. The company flourished under Tamara’s guidance with the opening of her first shop in 1997. Jimmy Choo purses soon became an internationally renowned luxury brand.

A Jimmy Choo purse was not on the arm of First Lady Michelle Obama on Inauguration Day but the fashion conscious First Lady did have on a pair of Jimmy Choo’s Glacier kitten heels in a deep green to complement her  yellow Isabel Toledo ensemble. The Jimmy Choo glacier heels are from the Jimmy Choo Autumn/Winter 2008 collection.
