Valentino Purses and Bags

Fashion Icon, Creative Designer. Legend – Valentino Garavani, the founder of the House of Valentino, was born in the city of Voghera, Italy, in 1932. Having decided that he wanted to study fashion, he enrolled at the academia Dell Arte in Milan where he studied French and fashion design. On completion, he then enrolled in the Chambre syndicale de la couture Parisienne in France.

During his education Valentino displayed hints of his genius by winning the prize for fashion design awarded by the International Wool Secretariat. This prize was also later won by other lauded designers, Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld. At the age of 18 he began work with fashion designer Jean Dess. He went on to later work for Guy Laroche.

In 1959, Valentino opened his first studio in Rome. In it he introduced his first collection. With the help of Giancarlo Giammetti he worked to expand and improve on his studio. In 1962 Valentino’s debut at the international fashion Gotha in Florence was a success, launching him into international fame and recognition. This was quickly followed by the Neiman Marcus prize in Dallas in 1967.

In 1969 Valentino opened his first Valentino shop; it was shortly followed by the launch of his first ready-to-wear collection. He also opened up shops in Rome and New York. His clothes were identified by a simple V which soon became synonymous with his style.

The seventies saw him achieve even more, with a boutique opened in Tokyo and his first ready-to-wear fashion show held in Paris. It also saw him launch the Valentine perfume.

He was awarded the Grand’Ufficiale dell’Ordine al Merito and the Cavaliere di Gran Croce, (the highest award possible) from the Italian President in 1985 and 1986 respectively.

Valentino is a recognized fashion designer. He is responsible for dressing many celebrities and created the wedding dresses for Jackie Onassis and J-Lo. His designs are classic in look. Long skirts with soft fabric. He once famously said, when questioned about his preference for long skirts: “I don’t think any man in the world wants to go out with a woman dressed like a boy.”

Valentino Handbags are simply lovely pieces. Valentino designers create bags out of flower themes. The results are aesthetic pieces that are lovely to look at. Valentine bags are works of art, well crafted pieces designed to please the senses. Valentine bags are romantic pieces. The detail in construction, the soft curves and the rich material is guaranteed to turn even the sternest of women into a blushing Cinderella. Valentino bags are perfect for that evening dinner gown or the quiet date in the park. Like gentle fairies, they complement a woman’s beauty with their regal charm.

Valentino bags are not always functional. You might not be able to carry a whole lot in some of them, but that is simply because, unlike other designer bags, you do not carry a Valentino.

It carries you.
